Shared Rooms, Ensuite: $475- $650.00

Please note on your application your top three choices for rooms, in order from top to bottom. If you would like to be paired with another specific artist, please note that on your application as well and be sure to give me their name! 

Shared rooms will be all the same gender, unless you are applying as an artist team and wish to share a room.

Price of your room/bed is due upon acceptance of your application. 
Transportation to and from the castle are your responsibility.

There is an optional one-day glass mosaic class, given by myself, Amanda Edwards. The class runs approximately 6 hours, and includes all supplies. The fee for the class is $265 per person. 

Other possible off-site, one-day classes off site are: glass blowing, working with pastels, watercolor basics. Details on classes available during your residency will be available within 4 months of your residency dates. 

In addition to your bedroom, the castle has many shared communal spaces! The great hall, kitchen, living room, castle gallery, and six acres of grounds. The grounds include a woodland walk down to the river Eden, a walled herb garden, a small orchard and a large open grass area. There is an open garage, watch tower, and a large drive which can park a maximum of 15 cars. The castle's caretaker lives next door

Bedroom One: The Dungeon


2 people, two beds, en-suite bathroom. On the ground floor with a vaulted ceiling. 

Cost for the week: $575 per person

Bedroom Two: The Family Room


3 people will share this large room, one to each bed. A king bed and two large singles. This en-suite bathroom is complete with a stand alone bath and window shutters, painted in the style of Hokusai. 

Cost for the week: 
$575 per person for the singles
$650 for the King bed

Bedroom Three: Spottiswoode


The Spottiswoode (Upper Tower Room is named after one of the long-term residents of the castle, John Spottiswoode, the Archbishop of St. Andrews in the 1600's. This bedroom is private, and has an en-suite bathroom.

Bedroom Four: Learnmonth


The Learnmonth (Lower Tower Room) is named after the family that owned Dairsie for 100 years, before they sold it to Archbishop Spottiswoode in 1616. This bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite bathroom.

Bedroom Six: Shared Caphouse


The shared Caphouse is on the top floor of the castle next to the castle's gallery space. There are two twin beds. The room shares a small shower room with the other single caphouse bedroom.  Caphouse bedrooms are at the top of the castle's spiral staircase, so if you have mobility issues, this may not be a good fit for you.

Bedroom Seven: Single Caphouse Bedroom


This is a small, private bedroom on the top floor of the castle, at the end of the castle's gallery. It shares a shower room with the other Caphouse bedroom. Caphouse bedrooms are at the top of the castle's spiral staircase, so if you have mobility issues, this may not be a good fit for you.
