Oscar Wilde has a very special place in my heart. It's not uncommon for me to be caught in a daydream, and be thinking of Oscar, one of his stories, what it would be like to sit and talk to him. The Selfish Giant, written for children, is one of my favorite Oscar stories. I have done this piece to honor Mr. Oscar Wilde and the wonderful story he created.

This piece won 1st place, Over-all Favorite, in the PieceMakers Mosaic Challenge.

This vintage mandolin was no longer playable, and was destined for the landfill. - until I got my hands on it that is. Stained glass, beads, and a beautiful blue Buddha (hand painted in India) make this mandolin come back to life.

Ganesh
'Ga' symbolizes Buddhi (intellect) and 'Na' symbolizes Vijnana (wisdom). Ganesh is thus considered the master of intellect and wisdom.. and is the symbol of he who has discovered the Divinity within himself. He's a good Hindu God to have on your side. ;)
He represents the perfect equilibrium between force and kindness and between power and beauty.

A reminder of just a few things that this beautiful life has to offer us...the ocean, land, sky, Buddha, and the stars. The Buddha is a hand-carved piece from India that I've painted gold. Also, on this piece are shells found here in Maine, a bird stamp under a clear glass gem, beads, and other treasures.

This is a very cool piece. It's shape looks like a piece of driftwood. It's colors are bright, cheerful, and mixed. The mirrored sides reflect the candle light beautifully.
